A taste of home, in the form of smoked meat:
On a pretzel roll with plenty of mustard:
Delicious, but not as good as the stuff that comes thin-sliced off the deli log.

No, it's Lebanon Bologna. From Lebanon, PA, not the foreign country.

When I lived in NM, the local supermarket deli sold Lebanon Bologna, and my wife was SO excited. Pretzel roll is what makes it (but why no cheese?).

It doesn’t taste like typical “the deli log is a giant hot dog” Bologna. My sister calls it “sour lunch meat.”
It’s a rough-chopped beef Bologna that’s cold-smoked and fermented. It’s delicious.

No cheese today. Even though there are baby Swiss slices in the fridge...

You know, I’m only about 2 hours from Lancaster. I really have no excuse not to have Lebanon Bologna more often. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water.
